Terms of Service
Last updated: July 18, 2026
These terms cover your use of Expense Rabbit. Please read them. A few points matter most: extracted data can contain errors, so review it before you rely on it; Pro is billed through the App Store; and you keep ownership of your receipts.
Expense Rabbit ("the app") is provided by the Expense Rabbit team ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
Expense Rabbit is an iOS app that lets you photograph receipts and extracts the expense details, such as merchant, date, total, tax, and line items, then categorizes each expense and lets you review, budget, track, and export or sync the results. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the service.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding agreement to use the app. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. Provide accurate account information and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Plans, subscriptions, and billing
- Free plan. The free plan includes a limited number of receipt scans, currently 3, so you can try the app.
- Pro plan. Expense Rabbit Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks unlimited scans and the full set of features. The current price is shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region.
- Payment through Apple. Subscriptions are sold and billed through your Apple App Store account. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds. Purchases made through the App Store are subject to Apple's refund policies. Requests for refunds are handled by Apple.
4. Your content
Your receipts and the expense data derived from them are yours. You keep all rights to your content. You grant us a limited license to store and process your receipt images and expense data solely to provide the service to you, including reading the images to extract the data, categorizing expenses, and syncing or exporting at your request. We do not sell your content. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle it.
5. Accuracy of extracted data
Expense Rabbit uses automated processing to read receipts, and that processing is not perfect. Extracted values, categories, and confidence scores may contain errors, especially on faded, damaged, or unusual receipts. You are responsible for reviewing the extracted data before you approve it, sync it, or rely on it. Expense Rabbit is a tool to help you organize expenses. It does not provide accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice, and the financial-health score and budget tips are for general guidance only. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or to submit content you do not have the right to submit.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems.
- Resell, sublicense, or misuse the service in ways these terms do not permit.
- Upload malicious code or attempt to interfere with other users' data.
7. Third-party services
If you connect a third-party accounting tool such as QuickBooks, your use of that tool is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services, and connecting them is at your discretion. You can disconnect an integration at any time.
8. Intellectual property
The app, including its software, design, branding, and content we provide, is owned by the Expense Rabbit team and protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or to copy or redistribute the app except as allowed by the App Store terms.
9. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or that extracted data will be accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Expense Rabbit team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the app in a way that could harm other users or the service. On termination, the sections that by their nature should survive, such as content ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Expense Rabbit after an update means you accept the revised terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the Expense Rabbit team is established, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer protection law in your place of residence provides otherwise.
